Nicki Minaj confronts her beef with Remy Ma on “No Frauds.” She gets assists from her partners in crime, Drake, and Lil Wayne.
It’s always a big deal when Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Lil Wayne collaborate. The last notable collaboration the world received from this epic trio was “Only” (The Pinkprint). Now they join forces for the aggressive “No Frauds.” What could ever be fraudulent about hip-hop royalty?
Nicki Minaj leads the attack on “No Frauds.” There’s lots of Nicki – like nearly three minutes’ worth. The hook arrives early on, and proves to be infectious:
“‘Cause I don’t need no fraud / I don’t need no drama when you call / I don’t need no, lies / Pick a side, pick a side / I took the price, and lift that b*tch up / I took the ice, let me lift my wrist up.”
At the end of the hook, she’s clearly bragging that money isn’t an issue and she wants the crème de la crème. As for the beginning of the hook, she wants somebody with her that’s real, not fake…fraudulent.
After the hook, Nicki Minaj drops a mean verse. Most notably, she disses Remy Ma:
“You can’t be Pablo if you work ain’t sellin’ / What the f*ck is this b*tch inhalin’? / I woulda helped you out that pit you fell in / I am the generous queen! Ask Ms. Ellen.”
She goes into more depth, addressing the disses that Ma dished at her on “Shether,” including shutting down the notion she’s “signed a 360” record deal.
Drake joins the fun on the second verse, referencing the return of Nicki, Wayne and himself. He also seems to reference his own feud with Meek Mill, but doesn’t dwell on it like Nicki. Lil Wayne closes out “No Frauds.” Interestingly, he doesn’t reference his beef with Birdman. Then again, they made up.
Final Thoughts
All in all, “No Frauds” is an enjoyable track that only seeks to highlight realness. The most interesting verse comes from Nicki Minaj, given her feud with Remy Ma. Drake and Wayne are okay, but clearly, Nicki M is in the driver’ seat.
