Nicki Minaj, Big Foot | Song Review 🎵

Nicki Minaj sounds pressed on “Big Foot,” her unconvincing, undercooked diss track directed towards Megan Thee Stallion.

She had to respond, right? Who? Nicki Minaj, of course.  For some context, Megan Thee Stallion ate on her diss track, “HISS”, which addressed several adversaries, including Minaj.  “HISS” received my seal of approval, as well as many critics and fans.  Of course, with Nicki taking some collateral damage with Thee Stallion’s pitch perfect bars shading her and her husband, a response was necessary.  I mean, what’s tastier than rap beef.  The problem with “Big Foot” (what a shady title) is, Nicki forgot to add the seasoning… or fully cook the beef for that matter.  Also, she came over as nothing but an insensitive bully. 

First and foremost, we all know that Nicki Minaj can rap her ass off.  There is no doubt in my mind. But, on “Big Foot,” Nicki sounds pressed.  Does she believe she’s eating Thee Stallion up? Perhaps, but ultimately, “Big Foot” doesn’t hit.  She takes shots, but arguably, the bullets ricochet… “How you fuck your mother man when she die? / How you go on Gayle King and can’t cry?” she asserts, adding, “Swearin’ on your dead mother when you lie.” Ouch, Nicki… classless to be honest. Other infamous moments including, “Bad bitch, she like six foot (ooh), I call her Big Foot / The bitch feel off, I said, ‘Get up on your good foot,” where she references Thee Stallion getting shot in the foot, and generally insulting her.  Nicki also discredits Megan’s Grammy wins (something that has eluded her): “They got you all them Grammys, but your flow’s still a no / What a fiasco, Lupe.” One of the lowest blows is when she asserts, “Why the fuck is you humpin’ on a minor?” Sus, given Nicki’s husband is a convicted sex offender, her brother was convicted of sexual assault, and she took heat for giving a minor a lap dance… Perhaps the worst part of “Big Foot” is the outro, which is odd, odd, odd – there’s no other way to put it.  “Big Foot” is a big ole miss by one of the best rappers in the game, proving that Thee Stallion’s cobra hissed at her something fierce.
