Nick Jonas & Robin Schulz, Right Now [Photo Credit: Island]Pop artist Nick Jonas and German DJ/producer Robin Schulz make an awesome team on their danceable new single, “Right Now.”

“Every time you go away, you’re always tryna fight / How bad I want you, bad I want you / I could try to fill the space with someone else tonight / But I don’t want to, I don’t want to.” Question? When does a new Nick Jonas album arrive? Jonas has kept busy throughout the course of 2018, and he’s back again with a new single.  This time, he collaborates with German DJ/producer Robin Schulz with “Right Now.” Notably, “Right Now” is co-produced by Schultz, Steve Mac, and Junkx.  Some of the songwriting credits are intriguing – Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Jonas, Lindsey Stirling, and Skylar Grey among others.

“Right Now” features a slick electro-urban-pop sound.  It’s a danceable record with a hella groovy beat. The synths used sound awesome, feeling very fitting for this sexy, yet tasteful pop joint.  In regards to form, for the most part, Jonas and Schultz opt for traditional sections (verses, pre-chorus, chorus).  Nick Jonas is the star, dropping silky-smooth vocals.  His tone is superb here. He’s best when he lets loose, showing off his versatility – the runs and falsetto are beastly. Both the pre-chorus (aforementioned) and the chorus are incredibly catchy.

“Right now, you know I miss your body / So I won’t kiss nobody until you come back home / And I swear, the next time that I hold you / I won’t let you go nowhere / You’ll never be alone, I’ll never let you go.”

Final Thoughts

Honestly, there’s nothing to object about regarding “Right Now.” Nick Jonas sings incredibly well, while Robin Schulz and his co-producers deliver a sensational musical backdrop.  Good stuff to say the least.
