Nick Jonas, Remember I Told You © IslandNick Jonas, Anne-Marie, and Mike Posner join for a fun, groovy single, “Remember I Told You.” It’s not profound, but certainly enjoyable.

Pop heartthrob Nick Jonas returns with a new single, “Remember I Told You.” The youngest member of The Jonas Brothers doesn’t tackle his new offering without any assists.  Both Anne-Marie (known for her contributions on “Rockabye” with Clean Bandit) and Mike Posner join Jonas on the groovy experience.

There are plenty of pros in regards to “Remember I Told You.” The first pro is the production work.  “Remember” has no shortage of groovy sounds.  All in all, it features slick, danceable production work that’s “irresistibly delicious.”  Another pro is excellent vocal production.  Nicely harmonized vocals appear from the jump – specifically the chorus section.

Speaking of the chorus, it represents yet another bright spot:

“Remember I told you, I need you / Remember the spark that was there / All of the words that I’m saying / Are just a fancy way of saying ‘I care’.”

Following the chorus, Jonas provides clear vocals on the first verse. Anne-Marie arrives on the second verse with Jonas rejoining her on the pre-chorus.  Mike Posner arrives on the second chorus for the first time. He then earns his moment in the spotlight on the bridge. He serves the role as rapper – specifically pop rapper.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, “Remember I Told You” ends up being successful. It’s groovy and enjoyable.  Still, lyrically it’s not profound.  Furthermore, it is a bit lite, all said and done. Arguably the biggest rub is that the tempo is so quick that the record goes by too quickly to be heavy-hitting. Nonetheless, Jonas, Anne-Marie, and Posner have something working here.
