Near Death ExperienceNear Death Experience Return With A New Anthem

Contributed by George James

'N

ear Death Experience are back making emphatic noise. The band who hail from London are straight off the back of their previous release ‘Conquer‘, and they prove that London is not only the capital of England but also the capital of the world for good old indie rock and roll.

Moves‘ which is the latest track to come from the group, takes us into a new space of rock with the band switching up the rhythm and bringing a little funk to the party too. It all gets underway with lead singer ‘Ian Whiteling’ singing with genuine sentimentality. It is not difficult to feel his emotion, and although the story is not massively poignant, you can trust his words and his expression is top class with each word standing out with astute tone.

The tracks opener also includes an unconventional bass rhythm which gives the track groove, also it sits alongside the drum beat perfectly, and the bassist and drummer come tighter than the door of a submarine. As the intro echoes off, the verse arrives, and it is notable bold, which you would expect from the group. ‘Ian’ sings with even more horsepower than his last record and his quality as a lead vocalist is on full display with him often switching up his style to add to the force of the track.

Once we are into the chorus, we are well and truly locked in. The band commit to creating a strand rock melody, and they do just that. It is a melody which shouts power, and it gets the hairs standing on the back of the neck. But, I still would like to hear a little more buttress. Also, another member lending out a few harmonies would not have gone amiss.

Overall, an original rock track. One which will keep your rock passion burning. It is out on August 14th.
