2017 is quickly coming to an end.  For the most part, the biggest album releases of the year have come and passed. Still, Friday December 8 adds some notable new releases from Luke Bryan, K. Michelle, Walker Hayes, and Juicy J.  Luke Bryan leads the charge with What Makes You Country.

 

 

1. Luke Bryan, What Makes You Country

Luke Bryan, What Makes You Country © CapitolOne of country music’s most popular artists, Luke Bryan, returns with his sixth studio album, What Makes You CountryWhat Makes You Country follows Kill the Lights (2015), but he also released an EP in 2016, Farm Tour…Here’s to the Farmer.  Comprised of 15 tracks, five singles were issued in advance of What Makes You Country: What Makes You Country,” “Out of Nowhere Girl,” “Light It Up,” “Most People Are Good,” andHooked On It.” Interestingly, “Light It Up” was a featured song on our 12 Paraphilic, Fetish Songs | Playlist (Objectophilia).

 

2. K. Michelle, Kimberly: The People I Used to Know

K. Michelle, Kimberly: The People I Used to Know © AtlanticK. Michelle is one interesting, unapologetic musician. Understatement. She returns with her fourth studio album, Kimberly: The People I Used to Know.  Kimberly follows her 2016 effort, More Issues Than Vogue, which didn’t perform particularly well on the charts.  Nonetheless, she roars back with 21 tracks, including singles Make This Song Cry,” “Either Way Ft. Chris Brown, Birthday,” and “Kim K.”  Besides Brown, the only other featured guest is Jeremih on “Takes Two.”

3. Walker Hayes, boom.

Nonetheless, the 37-year-old Alabaman country singer/songwriter has experienced moderate success.  Perhaps his sophomore album, boom., will give Hayes booming success. Boom. Follows up his 2013 debut, Reason to Rhyme.  Comprised of 10 tracks, singles Beautiful,” “Shut Up Kenny,” “You Broke Up with Me,” “HalloweenFt. Nicolle Galyon, and “Beer in the Fridge” were issued in advance of the album. Boom!

4. Juicy J, Rubba Band Business

Juicy J, Rubba Band Business © ColumbiaJuicy J returns after a four-year hiatus with Rubba Band Business. Rubba Band Business follows up his 2013 album, Stay Trippy. Comprised of 13 tracks, three singles arrived in advance of the project: “Ain’t Nothing” featuring Wiz Khalifa & Denzel Curry, “Flood Watch” featuring Offset, and “No English” featuring Travis Scott.
