Kesha lays claim to the biggest album arriving August 11, 2017 ‘Rainbow.’ Avicii, Bebe Rexha, and Lindsay Ell also drop new music.
The second week of August 2017 is upon us. Unfortunately, much like week one, musically speaking, it’s low-key. There is one inescapable, big-name release, courtesy of Kesha. Rainbow is by far the biggest album arriving August 11, 2017. That said, how will Rainbow perform on the Billboard 200? It’s been five years since a new Kesha album. Besides the release of Rainbow, new projects arrive from Avicii (August 12), Bebe Rexha, and Lindsay Ell.
1. Kesha, Rainbow
Since 2012, pop singer Kesha has been on the struggle bus. After a promising start to her career, numerous issues slowed curbed the momentum. Now, at age 30, the former “Tik Tok” singer looks to rebuild her career. Rainbow, her third studio album and first in five years, serves as her highly-anticipated, comeback album. Comprised of 14 songs, four singles were issued ahead of the album: “Praying,” “Woman,” “Learn to Let Go,” and “Hymn.” Featured guests include The Dap-Kings Horns, Eagles of Death Metal, and Dolly Parton.
2. Avicii, AVĪCI (01) – EP
Avicii drops a new EP, AVĪCI (01), following up his 2015 studio album, Stories. A skinny six tracks deep, no singles have been issued ahead of its August 12 release. Call it a mystery. Nonetheless, the song titles have been revealed, and featured guests are Vargas, Lagola, Rita Ora, Billy Raffoul, Sandro Avazza, and AlunaGeorge.
3. Bebe Rexha, All Your Fault: Pt. 2 – EP
Bebe Rexha returns with her second EP of 2017, All Your Fault: Pt. 2, which naturally follows Pt. 1. Comprised of six songs, two singles were issued ahead of the EP: “That’s It” featuring Gucci Mane & 2 Chainz and “The Way I Are (Dance with Somebody)” featuring Lil Wayne. Besides the aforementioned featured guests, Kranium appears on “Comfortable.”
4. Lindsay Ell, The Project
Canadian country artist Lindsay Ell arrives with her debut album, The Project – what a title. Comprised of 12 songs, six songs arrived prior to the release of the album: “Waiting on You,” “Champagne,” “Good,” “Criminal,” “Space,” and “Worth the Wait.” This project is all about Lindsay – there are no guest features whatsoever.
