June 2017 continues to “go big” in regards to big-name artists and their respective big-name releases.  The biggest title from June 2, 2017, came courtesy of Halsey (Hopeless Fountain Kingdom).  This week, the biggest release arguably hails from Katy Perry with her fifth studio album, Witness.  There’s another big name in addition to Perry though: Lady Antebellum (Heart Break).

After a four-year hiatus, pop princess Katy Perry returns with WitnessWitness follows up Perry’s successful Prism, which spawned no. 1 hits “Roar” and “Dark Horse.” In regards to singles, Witness has got off to a slow start.  Comprised of 15 tracks, singles “Swish Swish” featuring Nicki Minaj, “Chained to the Rhythm” featuring Skip Marley, and “Bon Appétit” featuring Migos were issued ahead of the album’s release.

Lady Antebellum returns with its sixth studio album, Heart BreakHeart Break arrives nearly three years after 747 (October 2014).  Comprised of 13 songs, five singles were issued prior to the album’s release: “Heart Break,” “You Look Good,” “Somebody Else’s Heart,” “This City,” and “Hurt.”

Top Dawg / RCA 

Alternative R&B artist SZA returns with her sophomore album, CtrlCtrl arrives three years after Z, released in April 2014.  Comprised of 14 tracks, three singles arrived prior to the album’s release: “Love Galore” featuring Travis Scott, “Drew Barrymore,” and “Broken Clocks.”

Rise Against returns with its eighth studio album, WolvesWolves arrives three years after The Black Market, which arrived in July 2014.  Comprised of 11 songs, “House on Fire” and “The Violence” arrived prior to Wolves.

French alternative band Phoenix returns with Ti AmoTi Amo arrives after a four-year hiatus, following 2013 release, Bankrupt.  Comprised of 10 songs, three singles arrived ahead of the album: “J-Boy,” “Ti Amo,” and “Goodbye Soleil.”

Indie-pop trio AJR – comprised of three brothers – returns with its sophomore album, The ClickThe Click follows up the collective’s 2015 effort, Living RoomThe Click is comprised of 13 songs.  Five singles arrived prior to The Click: “Weak,” “Drama,” “Turning Out,” “No Grass Today,” and “I’m Not Famous.” Rivers Cuomo is the sole featured guest on the album’s fourth track, “Sober Up.”
