“Iwanna hear your sounds, turn the TV down / Beat it up, beat it up, beat it up, goin’ ‘round.” Ooh-la-la! It’s getting sexual up in here! Grammy-winning R&B singer/ songwriter Muni Long (Priscilla Renea) drops a mean-sounding sex song with “Slow Grind”. She penned it herself, producing alongside Charlie Coffeen. She has a fabulous sound palette to sing atop. It features marvelous, characteristic contemporary R&B production. Beyond the backdrop, the melodies are rhythmic and, dare I say, sensual. “Follow me to my room, suite 232,” she sings naughtily in the second verse, concluding, “I’m in my birthday suit waitin’ for you.” Damn! Muni delivers a strong vocal performance – the expectation from the talented singer.  Again, the sound screams S-E-X.  Where the most tuneful melody hails from should come as no surprise –  the chorus:

“One time, I wanna slow grind, baby

All night, I wanna slow grind, baby

That’s right, I wanna slow grind, baby

… Damn right, I wanna slow grind baby.”

“Slow Grind” may not be an innovative sex song, but it is a damn good one from Muni Long.  It checks off all the boxes: memorable lyrics, sleek production, and elite vocals.
