Rap bangers are abundant these days.  Some of them live up to the characterization of a banger, while others could’ve spent more time cooking up in the kitchen.  🎙 Moneybagg Yo, 🎙 Sexyy Red, and CMG The Label collaborate on a two-and-a-half-minute ‘banger,’ 🎵 “Big Dawg”. “Big Dawg” features malicious-sounding production courtesy of 🎛 Macfly Beatz. Macfly delivers the goods with that minimalist synth, a banging trap beat, and – wait for it – barking that appears on the dawg-ish chorus. Woof, woof!

“I want a big dawg, a big dawg

… I want the biggest out the clique, I don’t want no lil’ ass nigga

You ain’t got no bag, you can’t even look at me, nigga

Fuckin’ with a big dawg got my ass getting’ bigger

I like them niggas who be ridin’ with plenty dope in the rental.”

dragon blessedWell, at least she’s honest, right? Moneybagg Yo follows up with the first verse.  Here, he is true to self, delivering a compelling flow: “Make it jiggle, wiggle-wobble, jelly bean (Booty) / You jump when she tell you, in other words you a leapfrog (Goofy).” Beyond that colorful chorus, we get unapologetic bars from Sexyy Red in the second verse: “He a dawg ass nigga, I’m a dawg ass bitch,” and, “Shit, if money ain’t a thing, then help a bitch pay her rent / It ain’t trickin’ if you got it, nigga, spend that on a bitch.” Wow! So, does 🎵 “Big Dawg” qualify as a true rap banger? While it’s not the second coming, it is enjoyable.
