While fans continue to wait for his fifth studio album, Grammy-winning R&B singer/songwriter Miguel impresses on the sexy single, โGive It To Me.โ
โYour body on inferno, inferno, your mind on my, my, my / But you deserve to let go, to let go, to let yourself unwindโฆโ The 2020s has been extraordinarily quiet for Grammy-winning R&B singer/songwriter,
Miguel. In fact, the last album he released was his gold certified fourth studio album,
War & Leisure in December 2017. Supposedly, a new album is in the works, but until then, fans settle for an enjoyable, well-rounded, and sexy single,
โGive It To Me.โ
โGive It To Meโ runs four minutes and change
, and itโs totally worth every second! The record was penned by Miguel and
Scoop DeVille, who also produces. It commences with an intriguing intro that is moody and features an unsettled sound. Listening initially, it is hard to tell what direction Miguel is going. Soon enough, however, the singerโs dynamic, easily recognizable voice takes over. Instrumentally, the tone of the drums and the use of distorted guitar are #winning. This gives โGive It To Me,โ which is about S-E-X, a fitting raw, animalistic sound. There are many memorable lyrics including โYou lit, Iโm lit, we lit / And Iโm ready to flyโ in the pre-chorus, as well as the catchy chorus, where Miguel asserts, โYeah, I like what you got, โcause I like what you got / I like what you got, would you give it to me?โ Another selling point is the excellent contrast that occurs in the bridge, which includes vocoder effects. All told, the Miguel fans want a new album, like,
. Until then,
โGive It To Meโ more than suffices โ itโs worth adding to the listening rotation.
