Migos, Call Casting | Track Review 🎵

Migos continue to deliver hard-hitting bangers. Cocky and confident single “Call Casting” is no exception.

Migos have elevated their profile tremendously.  Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff can look forward to a big year thanks to breakout success with no. 1 hit single, “Bad and Boujee”.  The trio arrives with a new album, Culture (January 27, 2017).  In addition to “Boujee,” Migos have released numerous singles, including “Call Casting.”

“Call Casting” features an electrifying beat and tasty production work. That production work includes a melodic piano line, southern rap organ, bass synth, and etc. Takeoff handles the sensational hook:

“Up early in the morning trapping
You can get ‘em how you asking
How many chickens? You can get ‘em whichever way
Nigga, trap turned Zaxby’s
I beat the pot with passion
Ahundred acres on the mansion
I dab in the latest fashion
Bitches need to call casting.”

Takeoff also handles the first verse.  The verse, expectedly, lack substance.  Where it lacks substance, it drips in flex.  The flex-fest includes lyrical gems like “This gold on my neck a plaque” or “Park the Lamb in the back (skrt, skrt).” Quavo takes the second verse, with similar lyrical content. His flexes include “Klay Thomp, corner shot” and “I fucked the game, Karma Sutra.” As for Offset (Verse three), he delivers lyrical daggers with “I chop the brick with the axe / The cookie smellin’ like a casket…,” as well as, “She fucking niggas for the check / I’ma only get the mouth.”

Final Thoughts

Like previous singles, Migos excel at flex-tracks.  “Call Casting” is no different.  Takeoff, Quavo, and Offset are on autopilot spitting unapologetic, cocky-and-confident rhymes.
