Migos, Bad and Boujee | Track Review 🎵

Up and coming rap collective Migos and up and coming solo artist Lil Uzi Vert deliver a hard-hitting, sick banger with “Bad and Boujee.”

Ah, who doesn’t love a good banger? “Bad and Boujee,” a collaboration between Migos and Lil Uzi Vert, qualifies as a good banger.  “Bad and Boujee” doesn’t convey a deep message nor is that a requirement.  It is another product of the ever-formidable producer, Metro Boomin.

While “Bad and Boujee” trends on the slow side where tempo is concerned, the record lacks no energy. The sound is malicious, sketchy, and chocked full of confidence and swagger.  A relatively lengthy but effective hook sums things up. Offset does the honors throughout the course of “Bad and Boujee”:

“Raindrop, drop top
Smokin’ on cookie in the hotbox
Fuckin’ on your bitch she a thot, thot
Cookin’ up dope in the crockpot
We came from nothin’ to somethin’ nigga
I don’t trust nobody grip the trigger
Call up the gang, and they come and get you
Cry me a river, give you a tissue
My bitch is bad and boujee
My niggas is savage, ruthless
We got 30s and 100 rounds too…”

Offset, additionally, handles the first verse, bragging about his status.  True to the title, he himself is bad (“Magic with the brick, do voodoo) and boujee (“I’m young and rich and plus I’m boujee”).  Quavo takes over on the second verse, making several references to hustling.  Arguably, his best line is: “Still be playin’ with pots and pans, call me Quavo Ratatouille / Run with that sack, call me Boobie…” Lil Uzi Vert takes the third and final verse, bragging, “Wait, these niggas watchin’ / I swear to God they be my clones.” Besides asserting his superiority – again fitting the vibe of the song – he also raps about the strip club, getting and spending money, and stealing lame’s girls. Typical.

Final Thoughts

All in all, “Bad and Boujee” is a solid banger from Migos and Lil Uzi Vert. Game changer? No, but successful through and through.
