Florida country singer Michael Ray shines on the gorgeous ballad “Her World or Mine,” the third advance single from his sophomore album, ‘Amos.’
Michael Ray once told us that “Real Men Love Jesus”. Amen. He also previously asserted he’d “Kiss You in the Morning”. Sexy to the nth degree. See where we’re going with this? Those songs appeared on the heavily-tatted, Floridian country singer’s major-label debut, Michael Ray, released in 2015. He’s back with a brand-new album, Amos (June 1, 2018). In advance of Amos, Ray released five singles: “Get to You” (2017), “Fan Girl”, “Her World or Mine,” “One That Got Away,” and “Summer Water”. “Here World or Mine” has a case for the best advance offering from Amos.
Michael Ray showcases his beautiful instrument – his voice – on “Her World or Mine.” Balladry is definitely one of his strong suits as an artist. Beyond the sheer beauty of his pipes, Ray is incredibly authentic. His performance is believable, relatable, and well-rounded. Beyond the performance itself, the production (Scott Hendricks) is incredibly sophisticated and true to the country script in regards to sound and instrumentation. Also helping out Ray is well-crafted songwriting courtesy of Brett Beavers, Jamie Paulin, and Travis Denning.
Final Thoughts
Truly you can’t judge a book by its cover. Who would’ve thought that the buff, tatted Michael Ray could show such an awesome, sensitive side like he does on “Her World or Mine?” Just kidding of course – looks don’t affect the voice in the least! Ray is a talented artist with a great voice (the looks are a bonus), and he exhibits his best on “Her World or Mine.”
