Haitian DJ Michaël Brun enlists Saint Levant and Lolo Zouaï for the short but sweet and potent single, “Sak Pase.”
Ah, there is nothing better than a musical vibe! You know who knows how to serve up a musical vibe? Why, Haitian DJ 🎙 Michaël Brun! He assembles a hot single, collaborating with some talented folks: 🎙 Saint Levant (a vibe himself) and 🎙 Lolo Zouaï. The union of these three yields the irresistible, summery gem, 🎵 “Sak Pase” [Note: sak pase means what’s happening in Haitian Creole]. Sure, it doesn’t even reach two-and-a-half minutes in duration, but its brief runtime is potent. Brun puts in work from a production perspective, giving Saint Levant and Lolo picturesque backdrop to perform over, WOO!
The biggest star of “Sake Pase” is Saint Levant (Marwan Abdelhamid), one of the coolest ascending stars of the couple of years. By cool, Abdelhamid never seems to perspire as he raps, giving off a chill but hot 🥵 aesthetic – hot in multiple ways, to be fair. Like on his solo work, Abdelhamid spoils us with his trilingual skills, rapping in Arabic, French, and English – ooh-la-la. He handles the memorable chorus as well as the first verse, which is exclusively in English. Getting sensual, Saint Levant spits, “I told her, ‘Wait for me, baby,’ but no, she not patient / You like it rough, so don’t blame me when your legs shakin’, ooh.” Lolo Zouaï is not to be overshadowed, sounding lovely in the second verse and also dropping some sweet, sweet French 🤩. She joins Saint Levant on the French lines of the final chorus, which is awesome. Of course, it is the Saint himself who closes out 👏. All in all, 🎵 “Sak Pase” is a great addition to the summer listening rotation. All three artists do their thang!
