Individual Track Reviews

The Musical Hype also penned reviews for all of the teaser tracks that arrived in advance of Little Dark Age.  The reviews are linked below, as well as a summarization of our thoughts on those singles.

1. “Little Dark Age”

Headline: MGMT, comprised of Andrew Vanwyngarden and Ben Goldwasser, returns with a thrilling new single, “Little Dark Age,” following a four-year hiatus.

Verdict: 4 out of 5 stars: “Ultimately, it’s a treat to have MGMT back, after they seemed to disappear off the face of the earth.  “Little Dark Age” is a fine track – well-rounded and creative through and through. Perhaps characterizing it as catchy is an overstatement, but there is an infectiousness, even with the constant lyrical contrasts.  The five-minute duration pushes things, but it’s definitely a worthwhile five-minutes by all means.”
