Although there’s star power on “Sharing Locations,” the collab between Meek Mill, Lil Durk & Lil Baby still leaves something to be desired.
“Y
eah, Rolls Royce, swervin’, famous bitch curvin’ / Seen you out in traffic, you was lookin’ nervous.”As stated above, this is more of a collaborative track between three rappers than a Meek Mill track with two featured guests – there’s a distinct different. Why is that the case? Well, the verses feature solo parts by Meek and Durk, as well as parts where Lil Baby joins. There is never a full verse by anybody, though Meek, rightfully, plays a bigger role at the end of the second verse. Durk handles the chorus himself, while Baby generally has the smallest roles of all.
“I hang with all the murderers
I’m payin’ all the lawyers for the murderers
I’m puttin’ all my dice on the murderers
You don’t wanna see me with the murderers, murderers.”
The thing is, I like the idea of “Sharing Locations” better than the product. All three rappers bring toughness over beat, but I’m not sold that this brief, long teased record lives up to the hype.
Final Thoughts
So, does “Sharing Locations” work out? Eh, it’s alright, but personally, I don’t think it packs the intended punch with such big names collaborating. To me, this doesn’t sound like a Meek Mill track, so that’s an odd dynamic. Furthermore, after listening a couple of times, it feels like “Sharing Locations” is missing that next level something, something, whatever that may be.
