Talented pop musician MAX brings some cool energy – and a ripe falsetto – to his short but sweet and potent single, “Gucci Bag.”
“I’m in my Gucci bag (Yeah) / Lookin’ so damn fly / Come and kiss me babe (Why) / Take me satellite high.” Woo! 🎙 MAX (Max Schneider) keeps things short on single, 🎵 “Gucci Bag”. How short, you ask? Oh, two minutes and change. Despite its brevity, “Gucci Bag” has a full team of writers: Schneider, 🎼✍ Sean Douglas, 🎼✍ Drew Love, 🎼✍ 🎛 Jacob Ray, and 🎼✍ Michael Cody Dear. Ray is also responsible for the work behind the boards. Is “Gucci Bag” worth listening? Of course – it’s MAX!
As excerpted above, “Gucci Bag” commences with the chorus, the centerpiece of the record. MAX continues singing, “Supernova with me / We can burn, baby, burn / Tonight, tonight.” The record is groovy, characterized by a soulful, 80s R&B beat. MAX sings breezily with ease, impressing with a ripe falsetto consistently. He’s potent despite being laidback, particularly in the pre-chorus where he sings of “Palm trees in Beverly Hills” and being “Cold as the Buffalo Bills (Goddamn, I’m freezin’).” Woo – get it Schneider! Interestingly, the first verse is the shorter verse while the second is longer. Regardless, the vibe is the on-point from start to finish.
Final Thoughts 💭
As I said earlier, “Gucci Bag” is worth listening to. MAX sounds fantastic, continuing to be that singer who I’m begging to get more recognition than he does. The songwriting is fun, though at just two minutes and change, I wouldn’t have minded a smidgen more. Still, Schneider and his team do a fine job overall establishing surefire vibe. That “Gucci Bag” won’t change your life, but it will provide a lift to the listening rotation.
