Matt Jaffe, “Insomnia” | Track Review 🎵

Singer/songwriter Matt Jaffe continues an impressive streak of singles in 2022 with his intriguing, ‘sleepless’ gem, “Insomnia.”

It’s safe to say that 🎙 Matt Jaffe never disappoints. It’s ALWAYS a pleasure to hear what he has to offer musically.  2022 has been a particularly strong year for the singer/songwriter, who has been on a musical tear. After some truly dynamic singles – 🎵 “Just an Echo” and 🎵 “Favorite Song on Repeat” – he’s back with yet another gem, 🎵 “Insomnia”.

One of the biggest things that stands out about “Insomnia” is the sound.  I love the timbre of the record; it’s quite picturesque! The strings are a marvelous touch – the crowning achievement of the production in my opinion.  That said, in addition to the colorful strings, the contrast of the guitars is incredibly sweet.  The excellence doesn’t lie solely in the instrumental.  We get gorgeous vocals from Jaffe, who has a truly radiant tone. That voice is just special! Something that I truly love about him is his ability to make each and every song/single he writes truly distinct. As always, the songwriting is strong and aligns with the song title. Jaffe’s pen game, particularly when it comes to memorable, tuneful choruses remains firmly on point on “Insomnia.”

Ah, just to reiterate, it’s safe to say that Matt Jaffe never disappoints.  It’s always a pleasure to hear what he has to offer musically. 🎵 “Insomnia” is another perfect example of surefire, musical excellence.  It shines thanks to strong songwriting, a strong vocal performance, and ear-catching production, specifically, those strings.  I believe in Matt, and you should believe in him too!
