Dutch dance DJs Martin Garrix and LOOPERS join forces for one brief, but sick instrumental single, “Game Over.” Prepare to dance you keister off!
What do you get when you put two Dutch dance music producers/DJ together? Sheer excellence of course. 21-year old EDM wunderkind Martin Garrix and LOOPERS definitely make sweet music together on joint single, “Game Over.” Though these standouts only give the listeners about two-and-a-half minutes’ worth of music, it’s certainly a worthwhile listen.
First and foremost, “Game Over” is instrumental – no vocals allowed! More importantly, no vocals are needed! This music readymade for booty shaking, if we’re keeping it 100. From the hard-opening synths, “Game Over” is irresistible. Head banging and foot tapping are inevitable – don’t resist! While the basic musical ideas of the record are revealed early on, Martin Garrix and LOOPERS add a variety of colorful and contrasting sounds to keep things engaging from start to finish. Given the brevity, the DJs marvelously execute, particularly where the overall pacing of this energetic little ‘ditty’ is concerned. While many of the synths are hard in regards to texture, there are some softer, gentler ones too, not to mention a dash of acoustic piano (keyboard patch) for good measure.
Final Thoughts
Is “Game Over” a game changer for Martin Garrix and LOOPERS? Perhaps calling this record a ‘game changer’ is an overstatement, but there’s no doubt that these two Dutch dudes ‘bring down the HOUSE.’ If you’re not moving some body part while listening to “Game Over,” something’s definitely wrong with you. Live a little, man (or woman)!
