Marc E. Bassy, Gossip Columns © RepublicAhead of his debut album ‘Gossip Columns,’ up-and-coming pop artist Marc E. Bassy drops one final teaser track, “Til I Get Found.”

We last heard from Marc E. Bassy in 2016, when he dropped his second EP, Groovy People.  Difficult to classify or pigeonhole, Bassy is eclectic. He incorporates pop, urban, and singer/songwriter cues into his music. This makes him a compelling artist – one chocked full of potential.  Perhaps the best way to categorize him is as a pop artist.  Following his 2016 EP, Bassy drops a full-length album, Gossip Columns. In advance of Gossip Columns, Bassy issued a number of singles including “So Simple,” “Til I Get Found,” Plot Twist,” “You & Me,” and “Plot Twist (Remix).”

Ample pros bode well for “Til I Get Found.”  First and foremost, Marc E. Bassy delivers strong vocals.  It goes without saying that he possesses a fantastic vocal tone. Artistically, he excels in his niche – as aforementioned, he’s slated somewhere between pop and urban contemporary music.  Perhaps he doesn’t spoil us with his falsetto, but when he hits it, it’s ripe.  Besides a well-rounded performance by Bassy himself, “Til I Get Found” features excellent, smooth production work, in the pop-soul vein.  The beat – groovy to the nth degree, ready-made for the steppers.

Final Thoughts

Is “Til I Get Found” a game changer for Marc E. Bassy?  No.  However, “Til I Get There” is another strong single preceding Gossip Columns with no deal breaking cons to derail it.  Well-sung, well-produced, and ultimately, well-rounded.  Winning formula.
