Italian rock band 🎙 Måneskin are kind of a big deal – more like definitely a big deal.  Is it the music or is it the fact that the band is, well, cool? Probably a mix of both. 🎙 Damiano David and company drop a single with no shortage of energy, 🎵 “HONEY (ARE U COMING?)”. Producing this loud joint are 🎛 SLY and Rami.

[📷: Epic / Sony Music Entertainment Italy S.p.a.]Early on, “HONEY (ARE U COMING?)” is, well, LOUD – no shortage of volume.  When the titular lyric is uttered on the intro, the eventual chorus, you know it’s on… like Donkey Kong 🤓.  The guitars are dynamic, the bass line is active, and the vocals by Damiano… energetic and playful. The listener gets a tuneful melody in the first verse. Notably, part of the second verse is more talk-singing, which adds a degree of personality.  Notably, there is some contrast in the pre-chorus, where David sings, “It’s 5 AM / We feel so good, it’s almost frightening / It’s 5 AM / I’m made for you, we can’t deny it.”  The second iteration of the pre-chorus some harmonized vocals, always a win 💪. As you’d expect, the chorus is gargantuan, arguably overblown. With successive listens, it grows more and more tuneful:

“Meet me there where it never closes

Meet me there where it’s never hopeless

All is fair in love, oh-oh-oh

Honey, are you coming?”

Bitmoji ImageAll in all, Måneskin delivers an enjoyable joint in 🎵 “HONEY (ARE U COMING?)”. Is it bigger than sliced bread? Is it the second coming. No, but hardcore fans should eat it up. For everybody else, it’s worth a spin or two.
