Madison Beer, "BOYSHIT" [📷: Madison Beer / Access]Rising pop singer Madison Beer is over the BS – rather the “BOYSHIT” – from an ex- on her entertaining, attitude-filled single.

“Idon’t speak boy-shit.” Yeah, we all see what you did there 🎙 Madison Beer, changing up the traditional bullshit in favor of boy-shit.  And for good measure, why not title your fourth single of the year 🎵 “BOYSHIT” as well?  In an age where we adore shock value, why not shock us, right? “BOYSHIT,” of course, is set to appear on Beer’s long-awaited debut album, 💿 Life Support, which arrives in 2021.  So, is “BOYSHIT” a good song or is it total BS?

Despite the title with the mighty ‘s-bomb,’ “BOYSHIT” conceptually is pretty familiar territory in a number of ways.  As is the expectation with modern pop, Madison Beer gets a sleek, electro-pop fueled backdrop from 🎙 Big Taste and 🎙 Pete Nappi.  It’s not earth shattering, game changing, or revolutionary mind you, but Beer keeps pace with her contemporaries.  Beyond the music itself, the theme and lyrics are also pretty familiar.  Basically, boys can be total buttheads, something that she clearly executes when it comes to this particular ex.  She’s giving her best while he’s totally messing it up.  At this point though, she’s tempted to try again, but she knows it’s not worth it.  Hence, where the centerpiece, the chorus comes into play, summing up this poo-poo, ha-ha.

“I don’t speak boy-shit
You're always coming back but your love’s poison
So, I think that I would rather just avoid it
I can’t understand ya cause I don’t speak boy, no
I don't speak, I don't speak, I don’t speak boy-shit.”

Final Thoughts 💭

All in all, “BOYSHIT” works out for Madison Beer.  Again, I think we’ve all heard similar records, just without the extra seasoning with that title.  She sings well, it’s produced soundly, and she makes her point loud and clear.  “BOYSHIT” is the new bullshit, I suppose.
