LZYBYLZYBY Releases Pop Gem “Frustration”

Contributed by George James

'P

op has a new name, LZYBY. By heck, he delivers here with his new track “Frustration.” Furthermore, he brings a sound which I have been craving for a long time, without even knowing.

Combing modern pop with nostalgia from yesteryear, LZYBY fastens us in instantly. He kicks off his new piece with a gradually rising synth melody which meets a tight drum hit at the top. The beat reminds me of an 80’s pop track; it has a bit of a ‘Madonna’ musical direction, whether this is intentional or coincidental, I am unsure. But, it comes with a gummy texture which glues the rest of the track together and musically it is contagious.

LZYBY then flies high with a vocal which is challenging to compare with anything else in the modern space. He sings with a clean yet unique style. His vocals stand out with his lyricism, proving he is not just a strong songwriter but also a powerful storyteller too. Furthermore, if you delve deep into his lyrics, you will come out feeling inspired. He sings about modern life, and he is frustrated with how everything is at the moment. For me, I doubt many will argue with him, especially given the crazy period we are all living through at the moment.

Towards the closing stages of the track, a bridge jumps out with LZYBY lending another memorable vocal delivery. The music takes a step back, and LZYBY takes the focal point with just his vocal pushing the track forward to its closing stage.

Overall, “Frustration” is that pop track which does not sit on any shelf. It is in an atmosphere of its own, and I savour this, after all, all the most outstanding pop tracks have followed a similar route.

Four out of five – George James.
