LW, Fine Wine [📷: Scotthonor Productions]Following a six-year-hiatus, R&B singer, songwriter, and producer LW makes a classy, compelling, and sexy comeback with his single, “Fine Wine.”

Anytime something is compared to fine wine 🍷 it is a positive thing 👍.  Wine is awesome – just don’t overindulge and become a wino, of course! For skilled R&B singer/songwriter/producer 🎙 LW, the comparison to fine wine has a romantic context.  He executes this marvelously on his comeback single, 🎵 “Fine Wine”, his first single since 🎵 “Happy” was released in 2017. Even though six years can feel like a lifetime, LW doesn’t sound as if he’s missed a beat!

LW, Fine Wine [📷: Scotthonor Productions]“Fine Wine” serves up that slick, adult contemporary R&B sound. This is grown folks R&B, baby! The sound is lush and smooth, hearkening back to the classy R&B of old.  That said, “Fine Wine” still sounds refreshing, particularly given the way the genre’s sound has changed over the years.  The use of keyboards, tasteful synths, and the most contemporary element of the production, the drum programming, is excellent. Of course, it comes down to more than just the sound of the backdrop. How about those vocals by LW? He delivers fabulous, nuanced vocals, showing off a refined tone and a performance filled with expression.  Furthermore, the layered vocals take “Fine Wine” up a notch. The songwriting is on-point too.  First and foremost, the tuneful chorus speaks to the love being like fine wine, which is the central idea – the main theme.  Also, give LW credit for name dropping those fine wines, including Chardonnay and Merlot 🍷.  If you are tasked with a comeback, follow the LW blueprint with 🎵 “Fine Wine” because this talented musician absolutely nails it. Welcome back!
