Logic, Bobby Tarantino © Def Jam / Visionary Music GroupContinually rising Maryland rapper Logic ‘flexes hard’ on “Flexicution,” a record filled with braggadocio to the nth degree.

Braggadocio is certainly idiomatic of rap music.  How many rap albums lack a song where the respective MC doesn’t brag or have a “flex-fest” with himself.  Yeah, that last line totally doesn’t sound right, but is it even possible that there is a rap album without some self-love and a big F-U to the haters? No. Essentially, Maryland’s own Logic decides he’s going to “flex hard” on track “Flexicution.”

“I’m like oh God, oh, oh my God
Bitch, I run the game y’all just commentate from the side…”

So, how does Logic’s “flex-fest” result? Ultimately, as he has been throughout his career, Logic does well.  “Flexicution” definitely doesn’t come off as the greatest material the MC has ever spit, but as lazy as “empty bragging” can be, he manages not to be TOO lazy.  Things that bode well in his favor? An addictive hook (“This that flexicution / This is what the people say they wanted / From the rap God…”), a minimal, but sick beat, and his sensational flow.  Guess the dude has a reason to brag a little.

Classic? Nah, but worthwhile. Logic don’t drop nothing but dopeness. He’s the Shaun T of hip-hop…never mind – bad analogy!
