Grammy-nominated rapper Logic ‘brings the heat’ on the brief, hella energetic banger, “44ever.”
“Everybody want a little bit of the boy, but nowadays, they just can’t fuck with me.” Mic drop, Logic (Sir Robert Bryson Hall II). The Grammy-nominated rapper is fierce in his single, “44ever”. That fierceness is brief, to the tune of sub-two minutes. Even so, that is ample time for him to talk his sugar honey iced tea, WOO! “44ever” was produced by 6ix and PoST. The instrumental helps fuel Hall’s fire.
I love the gooey synths that appear at the onset. “44ever” is set in a minor key with the dark vibes established early by the instrumental. This is before Logic spits the sole verse, or the kick-ass trap beat anchors things down. Backed by this sick beat, Logic is on autopilot. His flow is agile – the expectation. Besides the cadence, the bars are memorable (like Exhibit A, excerpted above) beyond being ultra-quick and rhythmic. Other gems Hall serves up include “Watchin’ every single move I make like you just got that LASIK, but you all on fake shit,” and “I could give a motherfuck ‘bout the rap game, the game, the game, now I’m finally free.” Also, he’s feeling himself at the end:
“Pardon my ego, there he go thinkin’ he God on the beat
Y’all know I’m rhymin’ elite
My rhymin’ don’t never deplete
Fuck are they rhymin’ about?
I’ma rap ‘til I can’t even speak.”
“44ever”, PERIOD!
