Logic isn’t the least bit concerned about ‘depth’ on single “44 More,” a follow-up to “44 Bars” off his ‘Bobby Tarantino’ mixtape.
“Sold more albums my first week than Harry Styles and Katy Perry / If this ain’t a ‘sign of the times’ then I don’t know what is, man this shit is scary.” Logic is back, with flex-fest “44 More,” a banger that serves as the follow up to “44 Bars” off his Bobby Tarantino mixtape.
“44 More” commences with eerie, foreboding, and malicious production work by 6ix. The extended instrumental intro sets up the rapper to go ‘H.A.M.’
Logic delivers his typical agile, versatile flow. He’s ‘turned up’ from the jump:
“Ayy, b*tch I been goin’ and goin’ like the Energizer / Yeah, I’m supplyin’ the wood like Elijah.”
Oh boy. Among observations is Logic’s repeated use of the slang word finna throughout the course of the first part of his extended verse.
“They say, they say life is a b*tch, and if that is the case then I’m finna surprise her…”
Beyond the overuse of finna, “44 More” is chocked-full of memorable one-liners:
“I done made 20 million dollars (preach) / I don’t flex to be acknowledged (preach) / At this point it’s common knowledge (preach) / All you haters been abolished (preach)…”
“I’m back again to snap again and goddamn it, it ain’t no other way around it / Yeah, it’s happenin’ ‘cause I’ve been livin’ in a world on my own / Leave me alone, I’m in the zone where I’ve been prone to destroy shit / You cannot avoid this, whack motherf*ckers have annoyed this.”
Throughout “44 More,” Logic name drops a number of people, including David Blaine, David Aames, and Kevin Durant. An excellent production switch-up occurs when he spits, “Who you know dropped the album back to back to back to back to back again?” He concludes with the lyric, “Gave ‘em 44, now here’s 44 more.”
Final Thoughts
Unlike “1-800-273-8255”, Logic doesn’t have a meaningful message on his hands. Still, as a turn-up joint, “44 More” is a good one.
