Lil Yachty, Who Want the Smoke? [Photo Credit: Quality Control]Despite taking a “couple of Ls,” Lil Yachty has a banger on his hands with “Who Want the Smoke?”, featuring Cardi B and Offset.

Lil Yachty always seems to keep himself present in the game at all times.  After releasing Lil Boat 2, an improvement over the horrid Teenage Emotions, he’s back with an unquestionable banger.  For all of his idiosyncrasies, sometimes Yachty can deliver.  That’s the case on “Who Want the Smoke?” where he’s assisted by power couple Cardi B and Offset.

While Lil Yachty is the lead artist on “Who Want the Smoke?”, and drops an infectious hook, it is Cardi B who steals the show on the first verse.  Showcasing ‘that attitude,’ she goes H.A.M. asserting boldly, “Their pussy need potpourri, these bitches is 0-3 / And their ain’t a lower league, all in my ovaries.” What can you say to that? While those lyrics are ‘something else,’ my personal favorite comes when she bites, “I get the money, I am the king of New York.”

Lil Yachty also drops a verse in between Cardi B and Offset.  It’s odd and shallow (sex, two-seater, music turned up loud), but the quirkiness actually works in this context.  As for Offset, it’s strictly business, as his flow is on fire without being as memorable as his wifey or left-of-center like Yachty.  Touching upon the production, it’s great fuel for the fire of all rappers involved.

Final Thoughts

All in all, as aforementioned, Lil Yachty has a hit on his hands with “Who Want the Smoke?” By hit I’m not saying it’s necessarily going to ‘blow up,’ but it’s an enjoyable, energetic joint to say the least.  Game changing? Nah, but worthy of spins.
