Scanning the Charts 📉 isn’t extensive, but rather short and sweet.  This week, we list 12 observations from the Billboard 200 📉,  and 6 observations from the Billboard Hot 100 📉, with 🎙 Lil Durk taking 💿 7220 to no. 1 on the Billboard 200 while 🎙 Glass Animals spend a 3^rd week at no. 1 on the Hot 100 with 🎵 “Heat Waves.”

Billboard 200 📉 

💭 🎙 Lil Durk scores his second no. 1 album and first ‘solo’ no. 1 with 💿 7220.  That’s right folks, Encanto has been knocked off its mighty perch, settling for no. 3 this week.

💭 Debuting at a career-high no. 2 is 🎙 Ghost, who sees 💿 IMPERA earn honors as the top-selling album of the week as well as the year so far.

💭 🎙 Rex Orange County earns a top-5 album with 💿 Who Cares? Which bows at no. 5.

💭 Earning the final debut in the top-10 is Christian act 🎙 for KING & COUNTRY with 💿 What Are We Waiting For? Which lands at no. 7.

💭 🎙 Benny the Butcher debuts at no. 22 with his latest project, 💿 Tana Talk 4.

💭 🎙 Summer Walker sees her former no. 1 album, 💿 Still Over It, ascend 18 spots from no. 50 to no. 32 in its 19^th week on the charts.

💭 🎙 Lucky Daye wasn’t as lucky as some of the musicians mentioned earlier.  His latest album, 💿 Candydrip, debuts modestly a no. 69.  Not too 🎵 “F**kin’ Sound” unfortunately…

💭 🎙 Kevin Gates re-enters the Billboard 200 at no. 107 with his 2013 album, 💿 Stranger Than Fiction.

💭 🎙 ERNEST had some success with the single 🎵 “Flower Shops”.  Unfortunately, 💿 Flower Shops: The Album launches tepidly at no. 150.

💭 🎙 Joell Ortiz and 🎙 KXNG Crooked debut in the bottom fourth of the Billboard 200 with 💿 Rise & Fall of Slaughterhouse (no. 152).

💭 Disney Pixar earns some more soundtrack love on the Billboard 200 as the 💿 Turning Red soundtrack bows at no. 187.  Maybe ‘soundtrack love’ isn’t the appropriate description.

💭 🎙 Ben Rector earns the final debut on the Billboard 200.  💿 The Joy of Music bows at no. 189.

Billboard Hot 100 📉 

💭 🎙 Glass Animals sees 🎵 “Heat Waves” spend a third week at no. 1 in its 61^st week on the Billboard Hot 100.

💭 🎙 Megan Thee Stallion and 🎙 Dua Lipa bring 🎵 “Sweetest Pie” to no. 15 on the Hot 100.  Delish!!!

💭 Expectedly, 🎙 Lil Durk dominates the Hot 100 following the no. 1 debut of 💿 7220.  His two highest charting debuting singles are 🎵 “What Happened to Virgil” (no. 24) and 🎵 “Petty Too” (no. 26).

💭 Interestingly, 🎙 Kevin Gates sees his 2013 song, 🎵 “Thinking with my Dick” (featuring Juicy J) chart on the Hot 100 for the first time landing at no. 37.

💭 🎙 Nirvana sees 🎵 “Something in the Way” debut on the Hot 100 at no. 46. 

💭 🎙 Imagine Dragons earns some modest Hot 100 love with 🎵 “Bones,” which launches at no. 93.
