Lauv, There's No Way [Photo Credit: Lauv]Rising pop artist Lauv recruits Grammy-nominated pop singer/songwriter Julia Michaels for his latest love-centric single, “There’s No Way.”

Lauv is on the rise – there is no question about it.  Specifically, the pop artist has seen his single “I Like Me Better” (I met you when you when I was 18.) climb up the Billboard Hot 100 in 2018.  After releasing his playlist, he continues to drop new music.  This time, he pairs with Grammy-nominated pop singer/songwriter Julia Michaels for “There’s No Way.”

Unsurprisingly, he delivers sexy vocals on the first verse. “You touch me and it’s almost like we knew / That there would be history between us two,” he sings, continuing, “We knew someday that we would have regrets / But we just ignored them the night we met.” Julia Michaels joins him on the pre-chorus and chorus. Together, they have solid vocal chemistry.

“There’s no way that it’s not going there

With the way that we’re looking at each other

There’s no way that it’s not going there

Every second with you I want another.”

Michaels sings the second verse, with Lauv harmonizes with her beginning about halfway through.

“I wish I could make the time stop

So we could forget everything and everyone…

So we could just give in to what we want.”

The second verse is more developed than the first, adding drum programming and more instrumentation. Lauv sings the bridge section, with contributions courtesy of Michaels.

“We just dance backwards into each other

Trying to keep our feelings secretly covered…”

Final Thoughts

All in all, “There’s No Way” is an enjoyable song that centers on Lauv’s topic of choice: love.  He doesn’t serve up anything brand-new or earth shattering, but, it’s a vibe. Also, pretty sweet that he pairs up with Julia Michaels.
