ell, SCANNING THE CHARTS is just what it says it is.  I, the quirky founder and do-it-all at The Musical Hype scans through the Billboard Charts and picks out things that catch my eye. This column isn’t extensive, but rather short and sweet.  This week, I picked out 13 notable observations from the Billboard 200 ,  and 8 observations from the Billboard Hot 100 , with Drake returning to the top spot on the Billboard 200, Lana Del Rey earning the highest debut at no. 8, and Adele holding down the top spot on the Hot 100.

Billboard 200

Drake returns to no. 1 on the Billboard 200 with Certified Lover Boy after slipping to no. 2 last week.

Morgan Wallen sees Dangerous: The Double Album ascend six spots from no. 8 to no. 2 in its 42^nd week on the Billboard 200.

After debuting at no. 1 last week, Young Thug sees Punk slip to no. 7. 

Lana Del Rey debuts at no. 8 with her second album of 2021, Blue Banisters.

Elton John debuts at no. 10 on the Billboard 200 with his 32^nd studio album, The Lockdown Sessions. 

SEVENTEEN launches at no. 13 with SEVENTEEN 9^th Mini Album: Attacca (EP).

Wale misses the top 20.  Folarin II bows at no. 22. 

Following a no. 4 debut, Coldplay sees Music of the Spheres slip to no. 23.
