(2023), we explore
βTeethβ performed by
Lady Gaga.
βDonβt be scared / Iβve done this before / Show me your teeth.β If you say so,
Lady Gaga β Weβll take your word for it!
The Fame Monster, an expansion of her breakthrough album,
The Fame, had some fine songs. One of the songs that gets slightly less attention is
βTeethβ. βTeethβ is the eighth and final track of The Fame Monster, and features production by the one and only
Teddy Riley. The pummeling four on the floor beat is a vibe in its own right. Beyond that, instrumentally, the rhythmic guitar, keys, and programming are sensational, giving Gaga an ill backdrop to sing over.
Of course, Lady Gaga doesnβt waste an opportunity to get S-E-X-U-A-L! βTake a bite of my bad girl meat / Show me your teethβ¦β Whoa, whoa, whoa! In the second verse, at least we understand the naughtiness stems from a lack of salvation
(I thought you were Catholic, Gaga). Besides the focus on oral matters
, there is also a twisted, vampirical element. We know βMy religion is you,β hence why she βNeed a man, now show me your fangs.β Jesus! Looking back, Lady Gaga has grown much more mature and sophisticated than her
βTeethβ days. Furthermore, sheβs won an
Academy Award and multiple
Grammys. Still, it is still a fun, naughty pop cut.
