Rising Silverlake, California-based art-pop duo KiSMiT deliver a brilliant, soulful, love-centric gem with single, “Look No Further.”

Folks, it’s time to get to know a colorful art-pop duo that goes by the name of KiSMiT. Who, you ask? The Silverlake, California-based duo, comprised of real-life couple Carly Barnette and Sebastian Reunert (Baz King), are influenced by numerous musicians, including Allen Stone, Kimbra, and Sara Bareilles. Pair those influences with pop, funk, songwriting, and some sensational voices with mad chemistry, and you get the musical gift that is KiSMiT. On February 15, one day after Valentine’s Day, the duo released an entertaining, soulful, must-hear, love-centric single, “Look No Further.”

As aforementioned, “Look No Further” can be accurately described as love-centric – understatement.  Listening to “Look No Further,” the authenticity of love between this real-life couple is easily perceptible and quite beautiful. In addition to the dedicated lyrics, characterized by a thoughtful balance of the emotional and physical aspects of a relationship, without crossing any lines, the music thrives from its retro, throwback sensibilities.  We’re talking vibes y’all! “Look No Further” definitely feels both fresh and refreshing in 2019, yet it also does a superb job of recollecting the funk and soul of the 70s.  How is that soulful sound conjured? A robust bass line, sick rhythmic electric guitar, and a cool, yet potent underlying groove.  Furthermore, the melody is incredibly tuneful, and the vocals are pretty sweet.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to check out KiSMiT, now’s the time.  Believe me, you won’t be disappointed. Barnette and Reunert (King) have fantastic vocal chemistry and seem to have some fantastic musical ideas and quite the vibe boding well in their favor.  The musicianship is the big winner on “Look No Further,” with a superb backdrop helping to fuel the fire of this surefire, rising duo.
