Kevin Abstract and Dominic Fike collaborate on “Geezer,” an intriguing promo single from Abstract’s 2025 album, Blush.
“He won’t be around much longer, he’s gettin’ old for his age.” Well now… So… what happens when Kevin Abstract and Dominic Fike join forces? “Geezer”, of course. A geezer (noun) is defined as an odd, eccentric, or unreasonable person, especially an old man. Fike’s concluding lyric from the chorus aligns with Merriam-Webster’s definition. “Geezer” is the promo single and 10th track from Abstract’s 2025 album, Blush, released on June 27, 2025. Unsurprisingly, Abstract and Fike co-wrote “Geezer.” They also produced it with Devin Workman.
Dominic Fike draws first blood, singing the first verse and the chorus. The geezer, while not explicitly mentioned in the verse, appears. After all, Dom “met Janine at a jam sesh, her dad was a dick / Their house was radioactive, but I slept in it.” He adds, quoting Janine, “‘Dad, you got old and then you ruined my plans’ / That’s what happened.” In the chorus, Fike mentions the geezer isn’t that old, but “he’s just old for his age,” and because of that, “he won’t be around much longer.” Kevin Abstract enters the mix, sexually: “I almost missed my first hand job, was ten minutes late.” Um… He manages to rhyme the next line: “Our home team missed by a landslide, but I made out great.” Wow… What is his point? Later, Kevin seems to encourage venturing out of the box, not becoming stuck, or a geezer. Abstract and Fike both deliver intriguing performances on “Geezer”. Beyond the singing, rapping (Abstract), and interesting lyrics, the musical accompaniment shines: sickening dusty drum groove, hip-hop sound effects (scratches, etc.), guitar, and bass. This song sounds true to both artists’ musical identity, which is a W. The hand job lyric is a head scratcher, but whatever… sex jokes and puns are all the rage.
