Bring on the bold, fierce songs! Bangerz N Bopz serves up background info and insight into songs of various styles, especially songs that raise eyebrows and/or stir the pot.  Featured records can be classic or brand new. In the 14th edition of Bangerz N Bopz (2026), we break down No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems” performed by Kenny Chesney.

“Been dreaming of gettin’ away since I don’t know,”
Grammy-nominated country musician Kenny Chesney (b. 1968) sings, and continues, “Ain’t no better time than now for Mexico.” Indeed! Chesney did his big one with the unforgettable “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems”. “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems” is the ninth track from Chesney’s multi-platinum, 2002 album of the same name. Casey Beathard wrote the shirtless aughts country gem.  Chesney, Norro Wilson, and Buddy Cannon produced it. A top 40 pop hit, “No Shoes…” reached number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. It performed even better on the Hot Country Songs, peaking at number two.  The song was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Kind of a big deal? You bet!

No shirt, folks! If you got it, then flaunt it!  And folks, that bod was bodying 😍! Yasss, Kenny was that country guy.  Of course, this was the song, too, thanks to its most memorable and tuneful section, the chorus:

“No shoes, no shirt, and no problems

Blues, what blues? Hey, I forgot ‘em

The sun and the sand and a drink in my hand with no bottom

And no shoes, no shirt, and no problems

No problems.”

I have said a lot about Kenny’s carefree vibes and his shirtlessness (That man’s good looking, period). But he also sings beautifully, with ease, matching the beachy vibes of this country joint.  There’s tropical-tinged pedal steel, mallet percussion, and the traditional country instrumentation, led by beefy guitar and heavy-handed drums. “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems” is nothing short of a 2000s country bop, best experienced with its hunky country star shirtless, shoeless, and problem-less!
