R&B artist Kehlani taps fellow R&B artist Keyshia Cole for the loving single, “All Me,” where both artists share mad love for their respective men.
“When you see him, know it’s all me…” Near the end of 2019 (December 23 to be precise), Kehlani tapped Keyshia Cole for the R&B duet, “All Me.” As the excerpted lyrics from the chorus suggest, the ladies have mad love for their respective men, period. Throughout the course of this pleasant number, both women take the opportunity to speak about how ‘he’ makes them feel some type of way. Ultimately, “All Me” features solid vocals, relatable songwriting, and lovely production work – nothing too crazy.
Kehlani kicks things off with the intro – the aforementioned lyrics – which eventually become part of the chorus. Then, she begins to share that dedication on the first verse, proclaiming, “I ain’t never stressed with ya… / Love me and you own that / That’s why I’m so impressed with ya…” She follows with the pre-chorus, singing lovingly, “You know you’re my heart / Yeah, they know I’m about you,” later adding, “Embraced all my flaws when you didn’t have to.” Keyshia Cole takes a similar approach, stating on the second verse, “I’m knowing I’m a movement, yeah, movement all by myself / But lovin’ every minute, yeah, every minute that we share.” Like Kehlani, Cole sings the pre-chorus following the verse, adding some sweet ad-libs.
Final Thoughts
Besides singing the chorus section throughout, Kehlani also serves up a bridge, that’s incredibly similar to the chorus, with the same sentiment. Basically, she makes her point crystal clear – him and her are a united, loving front. As abovementioned, “All Me” is well-rounded thanks to solid vocals, relatable songwriting, and its respectable production work. This is not a game changing urban contemporary number but again, it’s definitely enjoyable.
