Kane Brown, Experiment [Photo Credit: Sony]Country singer Kane Brown continues to show growth as artist. The infectious “Short Skirt Weather,” is perfect evidence of him stepping his game up.

As previously stated in regards to his single “Homesick”, Kane Brown continues to find his voice, showcasing more maturity as an artist.  For the most part, the singles that have arrived in advance of his highly-anticipated sophomore album, Experiment, have been rock solid. The fun, infectious, and sexy “Short Skirt Weather,” the fourth advance single from Experiment, proves to be no exception.

“Short Skirt Weather” clocks in at a respectable 3:14 – not too short and not too long. The intro – the eventual chorus – finds Brown continuing to channel his personality; he really hams it up with the twang.  Also, worth noting is the excellent vocal arrangement and production. In the context of what listeners have been privy from Experiment, once more, Brown continues to show off an impressive, beautiful tone. The accompanying production also bodes well for Brown (fiddles, guitars, piano, and old-school, Honky Tonk vibes). The subject matter isn’t ‘brand-new’ – he spends two consecutive verses, centered around how awesome this girl is… Nonetheless, it’s effective, while the chorus is absolutely infectious:

“Oh, my baby’s made for short skirt weather
Yeah, she makes me wish summer would just go on forever
From them yellow polka dots
Blue jeans to leather
Oh my baby’s made for short skirt weather.”

Additionally, there’s a third verse, followed by three consecutive choruses and an outro.

Final Thoughts

All in all, Kane Brown delivers sexy country music without crossing the line.  Sure, he likes what he sees, but he totally avoids being misogynistic like say hip-hop. The ‘experiment’ seems to be working on Experiment, at least as of yet.
