Kane Brown, Experiment [Photo Credit: Sony]Country singer Kane Brown continues to show growth as artist. “Homesick,” the third advance single from his sophomore album, ‘Experiment,’ confirms this.

“Dancin’ in the kitchen / You singing my favorite songs / Swinging on the front porch / Just laughing at the dogs.” Kane Brown continues to find his voice, showcasing more maturity as an artist.  For the most part, the singles that have arrived in advance of his highly-anticipated sophomore album, Experiment, have been rock solid. “Homesick,” the third advance single from the project, continues the upward trajectory for the rising country musician.

“Homesick” keeps things mellow, commencing with a relatively chill instrumental start. The result is an excellent, highly suitable backdrop for Kane Brown.  His vocal tone is absolutely lovely; he sounds nuanced and well-rounded. The chill vibes maintained on the thoughtful, sentimental chorus are ‘to die for.’

“I’m homesick
This feeling that I’m feeling
No, it don’t quit
It’s like half of me is missing
Heaven knows it that all I wanna do
Is be alone with your brown eyes all tangled up
Just holdin’ onto you tonight
Until the morning
Baby that’s the damn truth
If home is where the heart is
Then I’m homesick for you.”

Again, Brown shows tremendous growth artistically, developing more personality compared to some of the material gracing his self-titled debut.

Final Thoughts

All in all, Kane Brown is on to something with “Homesick” and likely, Experiment overall. “Homesick” plays well to the country crowd, but, it also appeals to the non-country crowd. Brown hasn’t delivered a pop song mind you, but, the record definitely has crossover appeal
