Austin, Texas pop artist Jxckson ‘flips the bird’ on his captivating, colorful, and incredibly entertaining single, “Save Yourself.”
“Forget about them, save yourself.” WORD! That’s a selfish statement, but one perfect for a dark, minor key pop record 🤘! Marvelous, lush strings 🎻 (violin samples) at the beginning help make 🎵 “Save Yourself”, the latest bop from Austin, Texas pop artist, 🎙️ Jxckson ear-catching. It’s not just the strings that make the instrumental compelling, of course. The production is utterly stupendous with its colorful palette 🎨 of sounds – the groove, the keys 🎹, the synths 🤩. Furthermore, the production (🎛️ Boy Sim) gives Jxckson a totally different backdrop – one that is incredibly refreshing 💪. Jxckson describes this record as experimental and in-your-face bass driven. Cool 😎!
The sound of “Save Yourself” is crucial to its success. However, the biggest reason “Save Yourself” is another bop from the artist is – drum 🥁 roll please – Jxckson himself, DUH! As always, he serves up a playful brand of vocals. Every time he sings, it’s as if he teases and toys with the listener, and it’s nothing short of compelling! There is less melody from him on “Save Yourself” but that is part of the charm. The spoken, chanted vocals have a haunting, indulgent, and intimate quality, which seems to play into the theme and overall vibe. As amazing as Jxckson sounds, perhaps it is his attitude makes “Save Yourself” most intriguing. “This song was inspired by experiences of unreciprocated support I’ve experienced in my personal life and the music industry,” he asserts. Perhaps that’s a great reason for the potty-mouthed-ness which raises eyebrows… and the intensity 😈. Yes, Jxckson drops several bombs 💣 – like, “Fuck it!” 🤬 🤬 🤬 Okay, maybe 🎵 “Save Yourself” is not for the children, but, once again, Jxckson proves himself to be a captivating artist that so many more people need to know about, listen to, and be going totally gaga for, PERIOD!!! One of his best songs to date.
