Jung Kook (of BTS) brings a heaping dose of optimism and welcomeness in the single “Dreamers,” from Music from the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Official Soundtrack.
“Look who we are, we are the dreamers / We make it happen, ‘cause we believe it.” Woo! Those are encouraging, uplifting lyrics, 🎙 Jung Kook! The gifted (and dreamy 😍) K-Pop singer of 🎙 BTS delivers 🎵 “Dreamers”, the lead single – the main title – from 💿 Music from the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Official Soundtrack. As any sports anthem should be, “Dreamers” is energetic, exuberant, and, has a surefire vibe.
Given the hosting country, Qatar, it’s not surprising that there are Arabic lyrics (🎙 Fahad Al Kubaisi), which appear in the intro and recur throughout “Dreamers” as a refrain. After the intro, we get the dreamy, dreamer chorus from Jung Kook, which sets the tone of the record. He follows up with a post-chorus, which features buzz words like passion, respect, and imagine, preceding the Arabic refrain and the sole verse. In the verse, which also incorporates Arabic, the message is about everyone being welcome. That has been the message Qatar has relayed regarding the World Cup 2022, even though it’s not without controversy and contradictions. Regardless, this record feels warm and inviting, which clearly seems to be both Jung Kook, and producer, 🎛 RedOne’s intent. In addition to Jung Kook and RedOne, 🎼 ✍ Pat Devine and Mustapha El Ouardi penned “Dreamers.”
Final Thoughts 💭
All in all, 🎵 “Dreamers” is a pleasant musical offering from Jung Kook. As a sports anthem, it gets the job done. As a musical symbol of hospitality, invitation, and unity, it also fits the bill. Sure, The Qatar World Cup itself has drawn its fair share of controversy, contradiction, and scrutiny, but this pop joint doesn’t disappoint.
