ew Beginnings’ is the latest track to make it into the 2020 festive playlists. It is a charming release with Julia fusing neo-classical with Christmas scores from yesteryear.

It all kicks off with a gentle melody from Julia. She leads us on a journey from the get-go, and the serene overture speaks a thousand words despite no vocals being present in the mix, other than a backing harmony. New sounds then rise to the top of the mixture, and the energy picks up before a crushing instrumental which has Christmas day written all over it.

Musically, the arrangement is delightful. Furthermore, I relish how Julia glides her way forward with the synth sounds pop to the forefront with soothing qualities. Also, the slight addition of bells ring out with conviction, and the drum fills shuffle onward with a feel-good angle. Also, what I enjoy most about this track is that it fills me with joy and optimism. I can almost reach out and touch the tones, and I will be sure to play this one come Christmas morning.

Overall, ‘New Beginnings’ is the first of its kind for 2020. So much so, it arrives just that little bit different, and it is a refreshing change to the countless number of other tracks popping out this month. Also, the warmth it provides is very needed, especially at a time when the winter skies cover us like a blanket, and the reality of COVID-19 still looms, but you will forget about those adversities with this gem.
