Julia Thomsen Releases Piano Version of “Amour”

ulia Thomsen has just released the piano version of “Amour“. It’s already making waves among classical music fans, and the award-winning composer strips her orchestral piece down to its bare essentials. This solo piano arrangement reveals new layers that weren’t as apparent in the full previous version. Julia opens with quiet, almost hesitant notes that gain confidence as the piece progresses. The middle section builds beautifully. Moreover, cascading phrases feel like water flowing over stones.
What’s great about this version is how much space Julia gives each musical idea to breathe. The previous version might sweep you along, but this piano arrangement invites you to sit with each moment. The slower passages feel like gentle conversation, and the more intense sections pack real emotional punch without overwhelming the listener.
The composition works particularly well as background music for reading or working, though it rewards close listening too. Julia knows exactly when to pull back and when to lean in, creating natural ebb and flow throughout the piece, and it is one to relish this summer.
