Juice WRLD (with benny blanco), "Real Shit" [📷 : Grade A Productions / Interscope]The great Juice WRLD blesses us with positive vibes on his no lying, posthumous single, “Real Shit” alongside writer/producer benny blanco.

“Real shit, real shit, never tell a lie.” It’s honestly a good philosophy that the late 🎙 Juice WRLD expresses on 🎵 “Real Shit,” a single released on what would’ve been his 22nd birthday (December 2).  On the melodic single, he’s assisted by the pen and production of 🎙 benny blanco, who has no shortage of hits under his belt.  In addition to blanco, “Real Shit” is also produced by 🎙 Cashmere Cat, 🎙 Henry Kwapis, 🎙 Jack Karaszewski, and 🎙 Dylan Brady.

“Real Shit” is definitely characteristic of Juice WRLD.  As aforementioned, it’s melodic, finding the deceased artist embracing the emo side of the genre.  The chorus is ear catching the first time you hear it, which tends to be the case when a swear word is involved.  Beyond the chorus, the post-chorus continues the goodness (“Life’s good so I’m living great”), even before we get a single verse.  Early on, it’s clear, Juice is all about positive vibes, something we didn’t always hear from him while living or even on his posthumous album, 💿 Legends Never Die.  On the second verse, he enthusiastically asserts, “I’m eatin’ too damn good / Goddamn, tryna gain weight / Workin’ on my demons, they in better shape / Demons on my back, get them away from me.”  Sigh, unfortunately, he was unable to make the positive attitude and progress on this single a reality.

Final Thoughts 💭

It’s awesome that there has been so much posthumous music from Juice WRLD; he really had plenty to offer as an artist.  However, it’s always bittersweet given the fact that he’s no longer with us.  “Real Shit” especially makes you emotional given the positive vibes he touts – the joy which he pop-raps with.  What is true is that indeed, legends never die.
