osiah Mortimer crafts a stunning EP and he dedicates it to the pandemic heroes of recent times. The release, ‘This Town‘ is one of the most intriguing acoustic releases today and Josiah unleashes his quality with his confidence oozing out from the get-go.

Based in Brixton, Josiah boasts a rich vocal texture which makes him stand out like the proverbial thumb, but for the right reasons. Furthermore, despite the musical elements staying relatively brief, he still brings a distinct quality which is irresistible. It is what makes his work so impressive. Moreover, he works around the same chords that many others have followed previously, yet he sounds fresh and unfamiliar.

Cleverly, ‘This Town‘ blossoms as it progresses with Josiah conjuring up passion through his heartfelt poetry. He wrote these lyrics in the first lockdown in early 2020, and many would not have expected them to be still relevant today, But sadly, they are, and Josiah knows too well how important they are for everyone caught up in this madness.

He gets his message across with clarity, and he speaks about how the world has changed around him over the last year. His passion is striking. Although his delivery is ambitious given the number of other charity releases that are appearing, he delves into a unique corner and leaves an indent like no other.

Overall, ‘This Town‘ is wholly unique. It delves deep into a personal message, and it leaves the hairs standing on the back of the neck. Also, it proves to be a soundtrack of modern times with his story hitting home with accuracy.
