Jonas Blue & MAX, "Naked" [Photo Credits: A Positiva / Virgin]Standouts Jonas Blue and MAX join forces on the irresistibly delicious, naughty, and suggestive pop single, “Naked.”

Jonas Blue (Guy James Robin) clearly has plenty of naughty fun on his latest single, “Naked.” The word naked just screams naughtiness and sex, and honestly, that’s exactly what goes down – no pun intended! On the slick minor key joint (Bb minor to be exact), he enlists one of today’s elite pop singers, MAX (Max Schneider) for the assist.  Why MAX doesn’t get more buzz, I don’t understand, but that’s a discussion for a different time.

“Naked” was written by Blue, Ed Drewett, and RØMANS (Sam Roman), and produced solely by Blue.  Blue’s production work is sleek AF, including crisp rhythmic guitar, an irresistibly infectious groove, and exuberant horns.  I mean, man, does he set up MAX with a goldmine! Of course, Schneider runs with it, showcasing ample personality while both pop-rapping and singing.

“Hourglass shape for a figure
Silhouette send me off like a trigger
Goddamn, I’m the man when I’m with her, yeah.”

MAX is definitely on his sexy shit, further confirmed on the second verse: “Keep me up all night, no quittin’ / Appetite for delight, no limit.” As much sexiness and swagger as he possesses, MAX is at his best when shows off those incredible pipes, including a ripe, masterful falsetto.  The centerpiece, of course is the infectious, irresistible, sexy chorus:

“You only say you love me when we’re naked
When you’re bangin’ on my bedroom door
You only say you love me when you want me and we’re naked
When you’re layin’ on my bathroom floor, oh
When we do it, feel so good
I don’t stop you when I should
Do we go? We go so hard
Almost let you break my heart
You only say you love me when we’re naked
When you’re bangin’ on my bedroom door, oh.”

I mean, it’s pretty clear what “Naked” is about, right?

Final Thoughts

Jonas Blue and MAX assemble a superb pop song.  “Naked” is suggestive, but what makes it so effective is that it actually never crosses the line.  The most offensive thing about the song is the fact that MAX says goddamn – he doesn’t even utter the word sex!  Besides delivering perfect sexual innuendo, “Naked” shines thanks to great production, awesome vocals, and catchy, relatable songwriting.  This is a B-O-P.
