“Sometimes I feel like I need nobody / Sometimes I need your body / It’s crazy, I know, that’s why I don’t tell nobody.”  Woo, JoJo (Joanna Levesque)! JoJo’s debut album was released in 2004. She was only 13 years old but possessed a voice bigger than her age.  Now, Levesque is ‘all grown up,’ firmly in her 30s.  My, how time flies! The pop/R&B standout unveiled “Too Much To Say”, the second single from her EP, NGL (arrives January 24, 2025). “Too Much To Say” doesn’t have ‘too much to say’ regarding duration – it clocks in under three minutes. However, what Levesque sings on the song speaks volumes. Levesque, Coleridge Tillman, and The Rascals (Khris Riddick-Tynes and Leon Thomas III) penned “Too Much To Say.” The Rascals also produced it.

Her tone is lovely.  Her ad-libs shine in both her lower-register runs and upper-register riffs. JoJo is profane, dropping unapologetic f-bombs. Case in point, the second verse, where she’s “Runnin’ late and everybody else brought a date to the party / And they’re crazy in love and I don’t really fuck with nobody.” Word.  It doesn’t stop there, folks! “Where the fuck do my emotions go when I start feelin’ emotional?” She asks in the pre-chorus, adding, “Lately, I been askin’ questions, been needin’ to feel somethin’ spiritual / Is that dumb?” The section to beat is the catch chorus, sung with harmonized vocals, where, expectedly, “I got too much say.” Ultimately, JoJo ‘brings the heat’ on the enjoyable and honest “Too Much To Say”.
