“I’m obsessed, you’re not sure / If I love you less, will you love me more?”
Word. Talented Japanese Australian singer-songwriter Joji (George Miller) unveiled “Love You Less” at the beginning of 2026. “Love You Less” is the fourth single from his fourth studio album, Piss In the Wind (arrives February 6, 2026). Joji penned this distinct song alongside Eric Fredric, Fallon King, Nate Mercereau, Alex Vickery, and Ricky Reed. Reed and Mercereau also produced it.

“Love You Less” distinguishes itself from previous singles “PIXELATED KISSES”, “If It Only Gets Better”, and “Past Won’t Leave My Bed”, continuing to showcase his versatility as an artist. “Love You Less” has an indie-rock, shoegaze vibe. There is a great driving feel about the track.  Rhythm is used marvelously. Never underestimate the power and potency of paired eighth notes! I love the sound of the guitars, as well as the prominence of the bass. I also adore the accompanying “oohs” during the introduction, which are eventually part of the post-chorus. Joji delivers well-rounded vocals. He is always a vibe, particularly when he sings in his lower register in an undertone – see the first verse. “Can’t get enough of you, no, no,” he sings, and adds, “But you won’t set me free…” Joji also sounds beautiful when he ascends into his upper register, particularly his falsetto. The pre-chorus does a marvelous job of prefacing and leading into the crème de la crème, the chorus (“When I’m ready, you’re not ready / Tryna carry this love and it’s heavy, yeah”). The chorus is stunning:

“I’m obsessed, you’re not sure

If I love you less, will you love me more?

I pull back, you come forward

If I love you less, will you love me more?”

The second verse is compelling, much like the first: “Wastin’ my breath / ‘Cause you like It better when there’s none left.” Ooh-wee, those matters of the heart are hearting! The second pre-chorus contrasts with the first, which helps keep “Love You Less” engaging.  There is also a compelling outro that concludes “Love You Less.” Instrumentally, one of the final selling points is the sick distortion from the guitar. With the release of “Love You Less”, Joji continues to impress as a singer and songwriter. The vibes are real, no cap! Four singles into Piss In The Wind, he hasn’t missed a beat!
