Adult contemporary R&B singer Joe does an excellent job covering Adele megahit, “Hello,” which appears on his new album, #MYNAMEISJOETHOMAS.

On his upcoming album, #MYNAMEISJOETHOMAS, Joe covers “Hello,” the megahit by Adele (25). Covering such a big song takes guts, but he is up to the challenge.  All in all, he does an excellent job.

The production work isn’t bad, but arguably during the verse it sounds a bit underwhelming save for the drums. It retains the original key. His voice sounds as smooth as always. He sounds particularly powerful on the refrain. Most of it is performed in his chest voice, but the highest pitches are in falsetto, expectedly. During the ad-lib section, he takes a few more liberties, but doesn’t tread to far from the original

Final Thoughts

Overall, a solid cover of one of the biggest songs of 2015.  Even as a seasoned veteran, Joe can’t top the original. Still, he does a heck of a job with it.
