Jeremy Zucker, "Honest" [📷: Republic]Jeremy Zucker gets better and better with each release.  On “HONEST,” he surprises delivering the most assertive performance to date.

“U

se to be kind now you’re out of your goddamn mind / I used to be patient / But now, I’m just vacant.” Ooh wee! Pop singer/songwriter 🎙 Jeremy Zucker is feeling ‘some type of way’ on his single, 🎵 “HONEST”.  One thing’s for sure, Zucker is honest AF regarding his feelings.  The musical result = excellence, of course!

Honestly (see what I did there), Zucker sings with a marvelous tone on “Honest.” His voice is gorgeous.  Boding well in his favor is the fact he has a tuneful melody to work with.  While Jeremy is more poised on the verses, by the chorus, he shocks the world.  Here, he showcases the most assertiveness I’ve ever heard from him, intact with two potent f-bombs!

“I was so sentimental
And you came for my head
We were both on the brink
I was holding my breath
You were so fucking twisted
And it’s hard to be indifferent
When I know...”

During the chorus, in addition to Zucker’s gargantuan vocals, I love the presence of the acoustic guitars.  The chorus is the crowning achievement, showcasing a different side of the underrated pop musician.  Sure, he’s been angry and pained in love many times before, but this feels different. In addition to how surprising the chorus is, it’s tuneful and features emotionally charged songwriting.

Final Thoughts 💭

Jeremy Zucker is the full package, and I need more music listeners to sign on.  He’s handsome, writes great songs, and delivers solid, relatable performances.  “HONEST” is a potent three-minute bop from this young talented dude – he’s on autopilot.
